FAIL....

I have been FAILING AT MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS!!! I have been so busy with nursing school this semester, that I hardly have time to do anything...including shop! Minus the Bobbi Brown foundation I bought at the beginning of January, I did not buy any beauty-related products. That is HUGE for me! ;)

Last weekend I met up with my mom for lunch, and we went to Ulta! Here is what I got:

I had never been into trying the Philosophy Purity Cleanser, because it is such a cult product. I really do love it though! I got the 3oz stocking stuffer version for Christmas (which will last you over a month, I think it is $10) and knew I wanted to get the larger version after I ran out. It is super gentle and removes my eye makeup really well too. I have combination skin, but this would definitely be good for people with sensitive skin too!

I also couldn't resist picking up some nail polish, duh. I am so done with the blah winter nail polish colors...I am already on to bright spring and summer colors (PS- so excited NEON is so in for the summer)! The two Essie colors I got are: Status Symbol (left) and Splash of Grenadine (right).

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Nail Polish Storage

I have recently become more obsessed with buying nail polish. I honestly never though I would get so into it. This month I am banning myself from purchasing any nail polish. I was at Ulta today and had two polishes in my hand...and then I put them both back. Talk about discipline!

I have been browsing Pinterest looking for nail polish storage ideas. I used to have my polish sitting on the shelves of a mini bookcase. I decided I wanted to use that to display my perfume instead, so I couldn't figure out what to do with my nail polish.

I could not find any ideas I liked on Pinterest. I didn't want to shell out a bunch of money to buy a nail polish rack that goes on the wall...maybe someday! Instead I was at Hobby Lobby today and they were having a 50% off sale on all glass. I spotted this glass bowl and knew it would be perfect for my nail polish. I also bought some black rocks to put on the bottom of the bowl. I know that you are supposed to store your nail polish upright, but I am going more for look than practicality! Ha. It also might be annoying to dig around to find a color I want...but at this point I just like the little display on my dresser!

I also bought some glass to store my brushes in. I will make a post on those once my brushes are all clean and pretty. Hobby Lobby has such great decor, and they are ALWAYS have some sort of sale!

How do you store your polish?

Beauty Resolutions!

                                          Happy New Year beauties!

  • BUY LESS/USE UP MORE
I have so many different products that get pushed aside. I am going to go through all my makeup and try to rotate products that have been stashed away for awhile. I love that feeling of beginning to use a product I bought awhile ago, but completely forgot about it. I am also going to do a makeup spending ban for a month...I haven't decided which month yet. I wanted to do it this month, but I need a new foundation...so that would already be cheating!! Maybe I'll do it in February...since February is a *short* month. ;)

  • CLEAN MY BRUSHES
I am seriously, THE WORST at cleaning my brushes. I can't believe I am going to admit this, but once I went about 8 months without cleaning them. (I know what you're thinking...). I have been pretty good lately, but I want to start cleaning them ONCE per week. I really need to hold myself to this one!

  • WASH FACE IN MORNING
I have fallen into this habit where I do not wash my face in the morning. I do a full routine at night, but in the morning I will just put on moisturizer, or I will wipe my face off with some sort of makeup removing wipe. I need to get back into cleansing my face fully, because obviously freshly cleaned skin is going to make your makeup look better!

  • USE MASKS MORE
I have many hair masks and face masks that do not get enough attention. I want to use a hair mask at least twice per week! I also want to use my Origins Clear Improvements Mask at least once per week. Between going to the gym and doing hot yoga, my face really needs a mask to bring all the impurities out of it.

  • OTHER RESOLUTIONS
*Drink MOAR WATAH!
-I know everyone says it, but lots of water is really important. Not only does it make your skin and hair look better, it also flushes toxins out of your body. I go on major water kicks, and then I can go without drinking water for days (terrible)! As long as I have Crystal Light packets, then I will be able to drink a lot....who cares if I'm going to the bathroom every 20 minutes right!?

*Workout 5x per week
-I have a gym membership and also a hot yoga membership, so I have no excuse not to go. One of my favorite workout motivation quotes it, "You never regret the workout you did, you always regret the one you didn't do."  -SO TRUE!

*BLOG MORE
-I love blogging and reading blogs, but I tend to neglect my blog! I want to blog more and make more videos for my Youtube Channel.

I hope you all have a fabulous 2012!

Nail Polish Timeeee!

My lastest obsession: GLITTER NAIL POLISHES. Actually, I love glitter any time of the year, but I especially love it more during the holidays. I wanted to share the polishes that I picked up at Ulta and Sephora this past weekend. The new OPI Muppet's collection is to die for! I literally want all of the polishes, but have only picked up two so far. If you have not checked out that collection yet, you better...

Here are the polishes I picked up:
L to R: OPI Meep Meep Meep, OPI Divine Swine and Sephora by OPI Spark-tacular.

I have only done my nails in Divine Swine so far:

Divine Swine is slightly sheer, so I used a base coat of OPI "I Brake for Manicures" and then 2 coats of the Divine Swine glitter. Can't wait to try the others!

Sephora Friends & Family Sale!

The Sephora Friends & Family Sale is coming up soon! October 20th-November 2nd.

Things on my "WANT" list:

Clarisonic Skin Brush- I have been eyeing up the Clarisonic lately. My skin has gone nuts since summer is over and the weather has changed. I need to do my research first though, because I have read that the Olay Skin Brush compares to the Clarisonic.

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiant Moisturizer- This is a new product Clinique recently came out with. I LOVE my Clinique Youth Surge Night Moisturizer. I got it last Christmas and I have almost used all of it up. This new product is supposed to increase skin cell turnover overnight.

NARS Blush in Outlaw - gorgeous.

Versace Versense Perfume - One of my friend's has this and it smells SO GOOD.

What's on your "WANT" list??

Deal Alert: Yankee Candles!

So I am sure several people who read this blog are just as obsessed with fall scented candles as I am. Last weekend Bath & Body Works had their candles on sale, and I was so bummed that I missed it! I literally live for anything fall or pumpkin scented. I was talking to my friend Katie, and she told me that Yankee Candle was having a sale. Of course, I had to jump on that and...

I purchased Autumn Leaves and Autumn Wreath! The best part? ONE WAS FREE. Yankee has pretty pricey candles (although they are worth it, the scents are amazing), the 22 ounce candle is normally $25.99. Walking away with two of these babies for only $25.99 is quite the steal. I wanted more, but I told myself NO!

There are two coupons you can print. One is for the Buy One, Get One and the other is $10 off any candle $25 or more. Unfortunately, they cannot be combined.

 *only valid until Sept 11th*

*valid until Sept 25th*

Happy candle shopping!!

Mani's & Pedi's!

Class started for me this week, and I finally have a little time to blog! Before I got back to my apartment at college, my mom and I went and got our nails and toes done. This time, we went to a salon that had the OPI Axxium Shellac, opposed to the CND Shellac. I honestly think that the OPI Shellac is WAY better. I have had 3 CND Shellac manicures before, and only one left me "impressed." The others started lifting between 7-10 days. I know they are only supposed to last for two weeks...but seriously. I'm going on two weeks now with the OPI Axxium, there is not a chip in sight and they are still super shiny. OH, AND OPI HAS *TONS* OF COLORS TO CHOOSE FROM....unlike CND Shellac!

That's my nails right after I got them done. They STILL look like that except obviously there is some growth between my nail and cuticle. I'm not sure the name of that color, because the salon I went to had swatches and a numbering system...so that was just color #37 to me.

Oh, and I also got my toes done. I apologize for my sandy toes, but I had just gotten home from the beach! This color is OPI Designer Series in Extravagence. Love it!

I'm pretty sure I have the littlest toe nails EVER.

Have you had Shellac Manicures? What are you experiences?
